Education

The primary mission of the Fargo Air Museum is to inspire new generations of aviators. We have students who first visited the Museum with their family, then attended aviation camp, became a student tour guide, and went on to earn their pilot’s license. We offer group tours and activities for the younger daycare-age crowd in addition to our youth camps.

In 2020, we began an expansion of our youth education programming and now offer two different camps for local kids! Both camps are chock full of exciting opportunities designed to rev the engines of future pilots, aircraft mechanics, air traffic controllers and more. We offer a variety of hands-on learning for school age flight enthusiasts.

Limited spaces available for every camp. Sign up early to secure your spot! Camps may end early and it is expected that parents or guardians are able to pick up campers upon conclusion of camp.

Youth Aviation Camp

Youth Aviation Camp teaches young Aviators the fundamentals of a variety of aviation related topics.

Campers (ages 6-18) enjoy exploring various aspects of aviation as topics change month to month.

Each Camp is divided into two parts over the course of two Saturdays a month. Aviators must register for the first camp in order to attend part 2. Those that complete both parts of the camp may qualify for a Scout Merit Badge.

Cost: FREE thanks to grant funding from the North Dakota Aeronautics Association.

What is STEM Education?

STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics — in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teach the four disciplines as separate and discrete subjects, STEM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications.

What is STEAM Education?

STEAM is a way to take the benefits of STEM and complete the package by integrating these principles in and through the arts.  STEAM takes STEM to the next level: it allows students to connect their learning in these critical areas together with arts practices, elements, design principles, and standards to provide the whole pallet of learning at their disposal.  STEAM removes limitations and replaces them with wonder, critique, inquiry, and innovation.
